Celtics Sit 3-0 in the East, But Charles Barkley Isn't Buying It

Boston Might Have Won the Regular Season, But Barkley Says They Haven't Proven Themselves

Though the Celtics dominated the regular season and are currently up 3-0 over the Pacers in the East finals, Charles Barkley is skeptical about the team's chances to go all the way.

The Celtics ended the regular season with an NBA-leading 56 wins, 10 more wins than the second-place Toronto Raptors. They had the best record at home and the second-best record on the road. They also had the league's best defensive rating. But Barkley, who is an NBA analyst for TNT, said he's not impressed. He said the Celtics have been "lucky" so far in the playoffs and that they haven't played any truly great teams. "I'm not saying they can't win the championship," Barkley said. "But I'm not buying the hype. They haven't proven anything to me yet." The Celtics will have a chance to prove Barkley wrong in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday night. If they win, they will advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
